Macao Week in Shaanxi•Xi’an

The main stage of the 2024 Shaanxi · Xi'an Macao Week will undergo a complete upgrade, featuring multi-screen coordination to host a wider variety of performances. According to the event schedule, the opening ceremony is planned for the evening of August 22, during which the organizers will introduce Macao's rich tourism resources, diverse culture, and Macao Week-related activities.

From August 23 to August 26, cultural and artistic exchange performances will be held according to the requirements of "scheduled times, designated locations, fixed frequencies, and specific content." During these daily performances, teams including Macao's local folk dance groups, the Lu Liang Sports Association, and the Macao tourism industry will present a variety of performances, allowing more Xi'an residents to experience Macao's culture and enthusiasm.

Set up mobile information desks and Macao tourism displays at key entry and exit points to introduce Macao's tourism overview to Xi'an residents. Additionally, provide comprehensive consultation, promotional materials, and check-in maps for the event.

Macao Secrets Travelogue primarily presents an overview of Macao, incorporating unique elements of the city. Shaped like the word "MACAO," it resembles a secret guidebook for exploring the city. The 3D map features various themed travel routes, and by opening the magic box at the center (glasses-free 3D), one can experience the endless excitement of the Macao Secrets Travelogue and feel the vibrant and magical charm of the enchanting city of Macao.

In this event, the Grand Prix Museum, Macao cuisine, and Macao festival events are reimagined and combined to present the exciting Macao Secrets Moments to the residents of Xi'an. Three distinct spaces will offer visual and digital experiences, bringing delightful, glorious, and joyful moments. Participants will be surrounded by surprise, wonder, and deliciousness, creating memorable Macao Secrets Moments for everyone!

Set up an OTA sales and consultation booth in the form of a tour bus (Tongcheng Travel,Tuniu,Qunar).

Makmak is a well-known tourism icon of Macao. As the “ambassador” of this event, Makmak brings local residents the experience of Macao’s scenery and culture. Additionally, Makmak presents many interesting gifts. The exhibition is designed in the form of a music box, where Makmak pops out to greet us as the music box plays. This area becomes a lively interactive musical playground. Makmak also brings its gifts (Makmak cultural and creative products) to Xi'an, allowing the residents to immerse themselves in Makmak’s joyful ocean.

The Lucky Lighthouse is designed based on the famous Macao landmark, Guia Lighthouse. It serves as the checkpoint for exchanging gifts at this event. The rotating images on the lighthouse enhance its rhythm, and the timed distribution of lucky gifts attracts many visitors. Additionally, the lighthouse is an important medium for promoting and showcasing the Macao Week activities.

Showcasing Macao's distinctive performing arts events from January to December, with added VR interactive experiences to present Macao's rich performing arts activities from multiple perspectives for tourists and residents.

Introduce Macao's major sports events, with an on-site car display to allow viewers to experience the Macao Grand Prix up close and deepen their understanding of Macao's sports events.

Showcase and sell products from Macao manufacturers, Macao brands, and Portuguese-speaking countries, featuring 28 vendors including souvenirs, alcoholic beverages, coffee, clothing, canned goods, and essential oils. This allows local residents and tourists to enjoy a one-stop shopping experience while appreciating the high quality of products from Macao and Portuguese-speaking countries. The exhibition will also present locally certified Macao products under the “M” quality certification and representative products from nine Portuguese-speaking countries. Additionally, it will introduce Macao's role as a platform for China-Portuguese-speaking countries trade cooperation and highlight the investment environment in Macao.

Introduce three themes of “Macao Specialty Stores”: the area around Rua de Cinco de Outubro, the Outlying Islands, and Southeast Asian cuisine. Delve into the cultural and historical background of the regions, blending popular attractions with specialty stores. This will provide popular information for visitors about check-in spots and store exploration in Macao.

Introduce the cultural and tourism resources of the cooperation zone, including tourist resorts, natural ecological areas,unique accommodations，major events, etc., and promote the 'group in, group out' travel model to facilitate multi-destination tourism between Macao and HengQin.

The song “In love with Macau” is a fusion of Mandarin and native Portuguese, will perform by Macao's singer Cátia de Jesus Pinto, Portuguese singer Giuliana Fellini, and Chinese-Portuguese mixed-race singer Filipe Baptista Tou. The lyrics of the song are filled with many elements about Macau's food and attractions, and accompanied by traditional Portuguese folk dances. Through this performance, they will show the Xi'an audience the charm of Macau's East-meets-West cultural fusion.

"Macau Lo Leong Sport General Association" is one of the most famous dragon dance and lion dance teams in Macao, which has won numerous awards in international competitions and participated in many activities to promote Macao tourism. They will bring a visual feast to the Xi'an audience with their spectacular lion dance and luminous dragon dance performance, which combines various traditional martial arts forms.

Portuguese Folk Dance Association "Macau No Coração" is a renowned local performing group specializing in the unique charm of Portuguese folk dance. Originating from the Portuguese countryside, this dance combines traditional folk dances, ballad singing and instrumental performances to present a colorful artistic style. The group will present an upbeat folk dance performance with Portuguese cultural characteristics, letting the Xi'an audience feel the passion and vitality of Macao and Portugal.

The Band FIDA was formed in 2019 with the motto “Let Love Rock Your Life”. The band is inspired by daily life, changes in the environment, and a deep reflection on one's own heart. They will bring a night full of love and inspiration, and lead the Xi'an audience to immerse themselves in the passion of music.

Galaxy Macau will stage the Auspicious Peacock Dance performance, bringing to life the elegance and dazzling beauty of the colorful bird. An embodiment of grace and auspiciousness, the peacock is an iconic motif of Galaxy Macau – as seen throughout the resort’s architecture and design. Dressed in exquisitely designed costumes, the talented dancers will captivate your senses through mesmerizing movements choreographed to enchanting music.

A visual feast that integrates percussion performance and dance. Three master chefs, representing China, Portugal, and France, gathered in the City of Gastronomy - Macao, to stage an intense competition for the title of ‘Master of Cookery.’ Each chef showcased their skills, ultimately discovering each other’s strengths. They decided to collaborate and present an unprecedented Sino-Western culinary banquet for the audience.

This Powerful show will leave the audience feeling like they have just arrived at the ‘Changing of the guard’ show from Buckingham Palace however they will be surprised and ‘wowed’ by the modern twist on the song performed by our talented in-house artists.

The original “MGM Lion Dance” performance is created with the concept of cultural fusion. The music features a new remix combining Guangdong lion dance drum and traditional Xi'an musical instrument, zuò gǔ drum, while the dance encapsulates elements of hip-hop and pop culture to capture the vibrant spirit of Lingnan lion dance. From choreography, music, costumes and props to visual effects on stage, dancers from the two regions deliver a dynamic and captivating crossover performance, showcasing an innovative blend of traditional culture and popular culture.

The dance performance is divided into three parts. In the first part, three dancers dressed in white water-sleeved costumes in the center of the stage, waving their sleeves to display the scene of Wynn Palace fountain show.
In the second part, the three dancers off the stage, and the other three dancers dressed in red costumes take turns go on stage with modern dance solo performance, incorporating jumps and ribbon movements to show the lively feeling of scene of Wynn Palace fountain show.
In the third part, the two groups of dancers (three in red and three in white) dance together, with the red and white dancers interweaving and interacting with each other, showing a spectacular scene of fountains show with white sleeves and red ribbons.

To enrich the Macao Week activities and increase the engagement for Xi'an residents, the interactive check-in area will feature the following attractions: "Speed Peak" reaction test, "Lucky Circle" folk ring toss, and "Adventure Camera" AI interaction. These diverse interactive experiences will greatly enhance the fun and novelty of Macao Week for both Xi'an residents and visitors.

Melco culinary team will travel to Xi'an to engage in a culinary exchange with the team at W Xi'an . From August 20 to September 1, 2024, WEI at W Xi'an will feature a Macanese-themed buffet showcasing nine signature Macanese dishes with several special drinks including the "Portuguese Roast Piri Piri Chicken", the "Orange Roll with Apricot Ice Cream" and "Claypot Coffee" with recipes and preparation guidance provided by the Melco culinary team to entice the people of Xi'an with the flavorful Macanese cuisine and food culture.
