Hot days, cool events: Macao's August has a lot to offer!

August in Macao has a sizzling plateful of exciting happenings to keep spirits high and creativity flowing – whatever your age!
School's out, and the younger crowd is celebrating a well-earned summer break. But there's more to this month than just downtime. Keep young minds engaged via the 2nd Macao International Children's Arts Festival (until Aug 31st).

For fun across the generations there's POP MART MACAO CITYWALK (until Sep 21st). Expect colourful, photo-ready streetside installations featuring fan favourites. Also, don't miss the Community puppet show "Gugumelo Travels Around Ha Van" (Aug 24th-28th).

For those craving highbrow offerings, there's the Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025 (until Oct 19th). In the sporting arts, two top-tier tournaments grace the city this August: the Sands China Ltd. Macau Open Badminton 2025 – Part of The HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 (until Aug 3rd) and the 2025 'Greater Bay Cup' Taekwondo International Series - Macao, China (Aug 16th-17th).

Macao's bumper autumn harvest of events caters to a wide range of interests, from cultural celebrations to world-class sport and street festivities.

In the skies, there's the spectacular 33rd Macao International Fireworks Display Contest (Sep 6th, 13th, 20th, Oct 1st and 6th), attracting pyrotechnic teams from around the world. Expect dazzling displays and unforgettable evenings by the waterfront.
At street level, the city marks World Tourism Day with the ever-popular 2025 World Tourism Day Tray Race (Sep 27th). Professional waiters swap the day job to dash through the UNESCO-listed Historic Centre of the city, each of them balancing a loaded tray – all to the delight of cheering onlookers.

Art lovers shouldn't miss Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025 (until Oct 19th), featuring an eclectic range of exhibitions across the city. For a taste of popular culture, catch the final weeks of POP MART MACAO CITYWALK (until Sep 21st), where colourful installations of the collectible Pop Mart characters transform the streets into a giant playground.
Sports enthusiasts can look forward to the WTT Champions Macao 2025 (Sep 9th-14th), bringing the world's top table tennis players to the city.
